Where to Celebrate National Ice Cream Month

The weather is getting warmer, the days are long. Summer is here! Luckily for us, it’s also National Ice Cream Month! Ice Cream is everyone’s favorite way to cool down in the summer while enjoying a delicious snack! Here are our favorite Vancouver Ice Cream Spots, and a few tips!

Ernest Ice Cream

Ernest is Vancouver’s favorite Ice Cream right now, and we totally understand why! With flavors like Tahitian Vanilla, Strawberry Basil, and Milk Chocolate (as well as a couple Vegan flavors), there is something for everyone. Ernest also has multiple locations, so you’re sure to be able to satisfy an Ernest craving wherever you are in Vancouver!

La Casa Gelato

The perfect place to spend a hot afternoon! Casa Gelato is the only shop in the world to carry 238 flavors on location. You’ll find your regular chocolaty flavors, as well as some combinations you never expected to see in ice cream form. Spend some time trying something new and finding your new favorite ice cream – or a flavor you never want to try again, but still tell everyone you bring to try.

Rain or Shine

Another Vancouver favorite for gourmet ice cream. Their flavors are seasonal, locally sourced, and the roster includes many vegan options. Rain or Shine’s menu includes flavors like Blueberry Balsamic, Honey Lavender, and London Fog. You’ll never be disappointed!

Nice Vice 0% Dairy Creamery

Nice Vice is a Lactose Intolerant’s dream! Their ice cream is seriously tasty and organic, as well as dairy, soy, allergen, GMO, and cholesterol-free! Their “vice cream” ingredients list includes fresh fruit, natural coloring and flavors, and locally sourced plant-based products! Flavors you’ll find includes Blood Orange, Chili Chocolate, and Watermelon Hibiscus! Not only can you get their “vice cream” at their location in Yaletown, but also in multiple small grocers across the city!

What you should know about Ice Cream:

At Shen Dental we love ice cream in the summertime! In fact, ice cream and dentistry go together quite well! Did you know that milk promotes quicker healing and soothes inflamed tissue in your mouth? That’s why dentists may suggest you have some ice cream (soft serve) after a tooth extraction! Milk also helps build strong teeth and bones in the first place! So enjoy your summer treat! Just remember to drink lots of water to prevent all that yummy sticky goodness from sticking to your teeth!
